Some people like everything in a room to be neat and flush. The lines of the room and the angles of the furniture must all be in place to make the room look finsihed. Then others like the elegance of flowing fabric that is luscious, abundant and excessive. It creates a feeling of luxury and begs to be touched, tugged and adjusted as one pleases. Which is correct? They both are as the two types described are different and you need to have a room with curtains and furnishings that make you feel relaxed and comfortable.
